The blade core was made of ultra-hard Japanese VG-10 stainless steel which is enveloped by 34 layers on each side with soft and hard stainless steel. This finest stainless steel contains a lot of carbon and has an unprecedented hardness of approximately 61+/- Rockwell.

The super VG-10 steel is used because it ensures a high degree of purity and an exceptionally sharp cutting edge. Full tang is riveted to abalone shell + solid resin handle for exceptional durability and control.
